Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can accumulate in buildings, posing significant health risks over time. For newly constructed buildings, effective radon protection is crucial to ensure long-term safety and compliance with regulations.

Developed by BRE’s radon experts, this course explains what is required to provide radon protection in new buildings located in at-risk areas. You’ll gain an understanding of radon risk mapping, the differences between basic and full radon protection, and the protective measures available.

The course is designed to help you better understand the BRE Report BR211 (2023), a key document referenced in Approved Document C (supporting Building Regulations Part C), which gives guidance on how to design and install radon protection, as well as how to comply with the requirements of building regulations. A supporting learning resource, the course simplifies and clarifies the report’s content, making it easier to grasp and apply radon protection guidelines in your work.
