What is your role at BRE Academy, and how do you support out learners or clients?
I’m a Technical Trainer at BRE Academy, supporting the development and delivery of training for professionals across the built environment. My role involves developing clear, engaging learning experiences that make technical information accessible and useful for learners.
Which areas of training or services do you most commonly support?
I support BREEAM training across the Academy’s professional learning offer, currently with a focus on BREEAM in Practice. I develop content and resources that help professionals understand the BREEAM process and its requirements and apply them in real-world projects.
What do you think makes BRE training different?
While leaners benefit from technical knowledge backed by the research and expertise of BRE, that knowledge is energised by the people who understand its practical application. I think the learner journey is central at BRE Academy, and our trainers emphasise making the training experience as effective as possible so that learners take away knowledge and skills they can use.
What advice would you give to organisations or individuals looking to upskill?
Be curious and remember that upskilling is an ongoing process. A growth mindset is just as valuable as the qualification itself.
What is your favourite place and why?
Italy. Every city and town has its own character, history, language and culinary traditions. There is always somewhere new to explore and something new to discover, even in places I’ve visited before.
What do you love about your role at BRE Academy?
With my background in higher education, I’ve always enjoyed thinking about how people learn and finding new ways to make information accessible. Working at BRE gives me the opportunity to do this in a completely new context, which brings its own exciting creative challenges and allows me to keep learning too.
