Qualifications: NEBOSH Fire Safety & Risk Management, Advanced Fire Risk Assessors Training, Fire Service College, Morton in Marsh, Level 3 Qualification in Fire Door Inspection.

About Denbygh: Denbygh spent 15 years with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue before finishing as Retained Watch Commander at Hereford and Worcester Fire Service.

Denbygh completed extensive training in fire safety, investigation, and management, alongside hands-on experience fitting fire doors and other components.

Since leaving the service, Denbygh has focused on fire risk assessments, inspections, and compliance within the care sector.

What is your role at BRE Academy and how do you support our learners or clients?

My role is Technical Trainer (Fire) I support learners throughout any training session I complete.

Which areas of training or services do you most commonly support?

Fire Door Inspection and Timber Fire Door Installation, Repairs and Maintenance.

What do you think makes BRE Academy training different?

It’s long history of testing and certification within the build environment.

What advice would you give to organisations or individuals looking to upskill?

Don’t treat Fire doors as normal doors, these are manufactured, engineered fire and smoke control devices.

Where is your favourite place and why?

I do like going to customers own locations, Face to face training in their own environment makes for a better experience.

What do you love about your role at BRE Academy?

I love the interaction from face to face training, I also allows me to impart my knowledge and experiences.
