As part of the BREEAM UK New Construction 2014 scheme update, issues were added to acknowledge the importance of considering climate change factors at the outset of design for a new building. The BREEAM UK New Construction 2014 scheme is used to assess environmental life cycle impacts of new non-domestic buildings at the design and construction stages.
Wst 05 (Adaptation to climate change) and Wst 06 (Functional adaptability) are both issues that were introduced in the latest scheme version. This BRE Academy masterclass will provide you with an overview of these, explaining the technical criteria and their intent.
You will also hear from a Client who has gone through the process of assessing these issues on a specific project, outlining the process they went through, lessons learned and highlight the impact these issues had on the final building.
There are no special requirements to attend this masterclass
Note: This BREEAM UK New Construction 2014 scheme version is applicable to new non-domestic buildings in the United Kingdom only.
Note: ‘New Construction’ is defined as development that results in a new standalone structure, or new extension to an existing structure, which will come into operation or use for the first time upon completion of the works.
